I have been working in Lee Co. for 16 years. My first job was as a substitute teacher at Smiths Intermediate. I then worked as a special education teacher's aide at Smiths Intermediate and Smiths Primary. I then went back to substituting while I got my Masters degree from Troy University Phenix City. I then spent a year as a Direct Instruction Reading Teacher. I taught fifth grade reading for two years at Smiths Intermediate and sixth grade self contained for the last seven years at Loachapoka Elementary. I am now teaching third grade in room 111.

Mr. Robert P. Harlan was born on September 15, 1970 on a mountain top in Knoxville, Tennessee.

He has been working for the Lee County Board of Education for 15 years.  Twelve of those years have been spent here. I plan to retire from Loachapoka Elementary.

My mother, father, and grandmother live in the area. All of them are retired (Lucky!). My home is in Alabama but I have strong family ties to the "Yankee" North, Michigan.

My brother's family is in Cincinnati, OH. He and his wife have two beautiful girls, my precious nieces Josie and Cara.

He have two dogs (Isabella, and Maybelle) and four cats (Julian, Rose, Sid, and Polly)Waaaay too many!

My hobbies are woodworking and reading for leisure.

I love to tinker with machines and electronic gizmos.

I am the coach of the Loachapoka High School Robotics team along with Hiram Williamson, an awesome parent volunteer!

I have started building wooden boats along with other wooden projects.
